"Are Jehovah's Witnesses Spiritual Drunkards?"

...is the topic of an article in the Watchtower of June 1, 1991, just a few months before the Watchtower's application as an NGO to the United Nations was approved, yet unknown to the rank-and-file, or even most Bethelites at their headquarters in Brooklyn, New York Page 10 starts off with the article, "The Spiritual Drunkards--Who Are They? and continues on page 15 with the article entitled, "Their Refuge--A Lie!"

The purpose of the articles is to demonstrate how the religions of the world, known by Witnesses as "Babylon the Great," have compromised their reliance on Jehovah God by aligning themselves with secular organizations in order to further their own causes. Much effort is made to bring up "Babylon the Great's" connection to the United Nations as an act of putting their faith in men, rather than allowing Jehovah to take care of matters. While the text of these articles is grounds enough to prove the hypocrisy of the Watchtower in the matter of "making friends with the world" (joining the United Nations as an NGO), one quote they make stand out, not for what they say, but what they OMIT from the quote.

On page 17 of the same magazine, they quote Robert Muller on the subject of prayer and meditation at the United Nations, but omit one key sentence that would condemn themselves even further!

The blue portion below appears on page 17 of the June 1, 1991 Watchtower, in the article titled THEIR REFUGE--A LIE!, which criticizes "Christendom" for seeking help from the United Nations rather than Jehovah. The red sentence is oddly omitted by the Watchtower! Since the Watchtower does not give the NAME of the book, at least you can see Robert Mueller's website and his connection with the United Nations at: http://www.robertmuller.org/

"Prayer And Meditation At The United Nations"-- Robert Muller

"Prayer, meditation and spirituality at the UN are fascinating subjects. All major world religions are accredited to the United Nations as non-governmental organizations. For example, no less than twenty-four Catholic organizations are represented at the UN. Several of the world's religious leaders have visited the international organization. Most memorable were the visits of His Holiness Pope Paul VI during the General Assembly in 1965 and of Pope John Paul II in 1979. Many religions have special invocations, prayers, hymns and services for the United Nations. The most important examples are those of the Catholic, the Unitarian-Universalist, the Baptist and the Bahai faiths. It is a common practice of the Unitarian-Universalists to display the United Nations flag in their houses of worship. So does the Holy Family Church, the parish church of the UN, with its international reliquary and its many religious services and activities catering to world peace and to the international community.
