1994 United Nations DPI Directory on NGOs
(Non-Governmental Organizations)

The Watchtower seems to be taking the "we didn't know the criteria" answer to deal with this horror. Here is my response.

  I have searched the UN's library and found the attached 1994 Brochure titled "The United Nations Department of Public Information and Non-Governmental Organizations." 

  For verification purposes, Page 9 (last page) gives who published it and date and number it was published (ie. DPI/1438-02997- April, 1994 - 7M).  Also you may request a copy of the document from the UN library and give the librarian the call number [ST]DPI/1438. There is a similar 1997 document and its call number is [ST]DPI/1438/Rev.2

  Needless to say it shows the criteria for association requirement the NGO to share the "ideals" for the UN and also must show support for the UN.  Needless to say the NGO must provide a signed cover letter to DPI to initiate the application.
